Oregon's semiconductor position is real but not guaranteed, and Lane County is showing up accordingly. The NSF selected FAST, Oregon's statewide semiconductor coalition, as one of only 12 Regional Innovation Engines nationally, with funding starting at $15 million and the potential to reach $160 million over a decade. CEDO is an officially recognized Economic Development partner in FAST and will lead private sector business recruitment at Semicon West this October. Separately, CEDO was chosen as one of just 12 teams nationally for Jobs for the Future's initiative on building skills-first regional talent systems, with pilots planned in healthcare and construction. Business Oregon's new $25 million Industrial Site Loan Fund is also open, and CEDO hosted an information session with Business Oregon's Industrial Lands Specialist to help Lane County sites compete. The 2026 EmpowerPitch cohort also celebrated completion, with a dynamic group of women entrepreneurs across education technology, healthcare equity, science communication, and operations now carrying that momentum forward.
