Founding leader Caitlin Vargas to conclude role as Vice President of Innovation & Entrepreneurship

EUGENE, Ore. — June 30, 2026 — Collaborative Economic Development Oregon (CEDO) today announced a leadership transition: Caitlin Vargas, Vice President of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, will conclude her role with the organization effective July 1, 2026.

Since CEDO’s earliest days, Caitlin has helped establish the organization and advance its mission of accelerating inclusive economic opportunity through collaboration, innovation, and community partnership. As a founding leader, she contributed to programs, partnerships, and initiatives that strengthened CEDO’s presence and impact across Lane County.

“We’re grateful for Caitlin’s contributions during CEDO’s formative years,” said Tiffany Cink, Chair of the CEDO Board of Directors. “Her work helped build a strong foundation for the organization. We thank her for her service and wish her well in what’s ahead.”

CEDO’s Board of Directors and leadership team have a transition plan in place to ensure continuity across the organization’s programs, partnerships, and ongoing initiatives. CEDO will continue to advance its strategic priorities, building on the momentum created by its staff, board members, partners, funders, and community stakeholders.

“The work that has gone into building CEDO’s programs and partnerships has created a strong foundation for what comes next,” said Matt Sayre, Executive Director. “CEDO remains committed to economic opportunity, collaboration, and meaningful impact for the communities we serve.”

CEDO’s mission and strategic priorities remain unchanged. The organization will continue working alongside local governments, businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, and community partners to advance collaborative economic development across the region.
